Ewen is experienced in commercial sector leadership and operations. He has worked in senior leadership roles for companies like WH Smith and M&S in supply chain management. He ensured strong financial management and compliance with health and safety.
Ewen has been Chair since 2016 and was our vice Chair before that.
Carole has worked in the housing sector for 30 years. She has worked at executive director level for organisations like Walsall Housing Group. There, she delivered housing projects to provide community benefit. She is also Chair for housing group, The Pioneer Group.
Carole has been a trustee since 2017.
Fraser analyses and advises on public policy, offering over 20 years’ experience. He is Head of Strategic Change for Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit. His work has covered topics including responses to austerity, new models of care and neighbourhood renewal.
Fraser has been a trustee since February 2019.
Marcia is a communications specialist, currently working for the Prince’s Trust. She has worked in the voluntary and public sectors and was Senior Communications Manager for the MAC (Midlands Art Centre). She is also on the board of governors for a school in Birmingham.
Marcia has been a trustee since 2018.

Sr Jude is a sister of the Sisters of St. Paul. She was one of the founders of The Fireside Charity when it began in 1980. She has worked with vulnerable people throughout her life and was headteacher at schools across the UK before retiring. She was also on the board of the Princethorpe Multi Academy Trust.
Sr Jude is a permanent trustee as one of our founders.
Dave has a teaching background. He runs our weekly AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) group and ensures that our clients’ voices are present around the board table. He has been with us since SIFA and The Fireside Charity merged in 2007.
Dave has been a trustee since 2006.
Heather is an education expert with over 30 years’ experience. Most recently, she was Senior Teacher in Birmingham working with severely autistic students in a Post-16 department. She implemented RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) and designed transition (16-19) programmes.
Heather has been a trustee since 2019
Glen is a marketing and communications specialist. He has worked in management positions across the commercial sector for over 15 years. He offers expertise in our marketing and profiling, including in online and digital techniques.
Glen has been a trustee since 2016.
