This year, big-hearted car workers belonging to the Unite the union’s Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Solihull branch, ran their annual Christmas Appeal, raising £50,000.
Supporting five charities in Birmingham, SIFA Fireside was chosen to receive an incredible £20,000.
Last week, Jo Shemmans, Chris Kuriata and Shaun Pender visited the team to present the giant cheque to our Fundraising Manager, Melissa Roche.
Melissa said: "On behalf of us all here at SIFA Fireside, I’d like to thank Unite and all the JLR branch members for their incredible donation. The world has changed dramatically for us this year, but our team are still working tirelessly to ensure that anyone who is vulnerable or in need in our city has access to support.
"We are providing immediate practical help for anyone who is sleeping rough or in crisis, and continue to support aver 200 clients over the phone and via appointments, helping them to access health and wellbeing services, resettlement services, employment support services, and emergency housing support.
"Our Adult Support Hub are supporting over 130 clients to secure and maintain their tenancies, preventing them from becoming homeless. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our partners keeping the charity afloat. Huge thanks once again and we look forward to your continued support in the year ahead."
