LIAP

LIAP consists of 14 two and a half hour sessions run with groups of between 4-12 participants. The following areas are addressed during the programme:

  • Increasing knowledge and awareness of alcohol and how it affects the body
  • Recognition of triggers and high risk situations, coping with cravings and understanding how they can control their drinking behaviour
  • Managing change through coping by thinking, and coping by doing skills.
  • Relapse prevention, social skills, conflict management, and self management.
  • Planning for the future, increasing awareness of the relapse process.

DIDP

The DID Programme consists of 14 two hour group-based sessions. The programme combines cognitive-behaviour and educational approaches and is based on the idea that offenders' lack of knowledge about alcohol and safe driving, poor problem solving skills and thinking result in drink-drive offences.
