Background information

The last few years has seen a proliferation of ‘novel’ or new psychoactive substances (NPS). The term ‘Legal Highs’ was used to refer to these substances prior to the New Psychoactive Substances Act 2016.

Many fear the Act will lead to the NPS market going underground with all the problems inherent in this.

Trainer David Coombes shares his experience of witnessing first-hand the devastating impact of Novel Psychoactive Substances on the health and wellbeing of users and the current picture of use of NPS since recent changes in legislation.
