Changing Lives offer a practical approach to support people with a history of homelessness to increase their skills and confidence and to find job, training , volunteering and education opportunities. Funding is provided by the Big Lottery until March 2021.

We are an enthusiastic team with a flexible, rights based, approach.

We provide a range of workshops around employability including CV writing and interview techniques.  We also address the wider issues by offering workshops and one to one support regarding job seeking, CV writing, Training, Education and Volunteering Opportunities.  Additionally, we offer groups such as up-cycling , art, music and film making as a way of team building.

We run a weekly Job Club called Future Steps at SIFA Fireside where clients can look for jobs online, create universal job match accounts, e-mail addresses and get support from staff in completing application forms. We organise holistic support eg referrals for specialist welfare rights advice and income maximisation.

We employ a tenancy support worker (Funded by the Lloyds foundation) who works to help people maximise their incomes, engage in activities and sustain their  tenancies.  We work in  partnership with Central England Law Centres and other charities to help the people that we work with to access their rights.

The Changing Lives team operates an outreach service to local hostels and organisations, providing support out in the community.

The team comprises: A Resettlement & Move On Manager, an EEA nationals Welfare  worker,  2 Project workers and also Tenancy Support Worker.
