Chief Executive departure

by Heather Duffy on 6 March 2017

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our Chief Executive Cath Gilliver at the end of April after 10 years of service. Over the last decade Cath has overseen the merger of SIFA and the Fireside Charity to form SIFA Fireside and the relocation to our new premises in Allcock St , as well as steering the organisation through some challenging times with funding pressures coinciding with a rise in demand for our services.

The Board is recruiting to the post, with an appointment expected by June.

Our Chair Ewen Kinnear commented “We’re very sorry to see Cath go and would like to thank her for her commitment to building SIFA Fireside’s reputation and partnerships over the last 10 years. In our 10th anniversary year we’re also looking ahead and planning for the next decade of service to the people of Birmingham. It’s also an opportunity to thank our many partners and supporters, and we look forward to continuing our work to tackle homelessness together.’’

To mark the tenth anniversary of the two charities coming together, we are planning a number of events from April onwards which will be promoted on our website and via social media.
