The client toilets and showers are in need of refurbishment, for the past five years they have been well used, in particular the gents to the point that the fixtures and fittings are in need of replacement and the environment in need of freshening up.
We have received a grant from CRASH, the construction industry’s charity, to help pay for this. CRASH have also found us donations from suppliers: Volker Fitzpatrick have promised to supply all the sanitary ware and Altro have promised us flooring and whiterock for the shower and toilet cubicle walls.
Despite having the funding in place and the donations that will enable us to complete the project we have experienced a few delays the main issue being caused by our primary contractor and project manager pulling out in the early summer.
We have since been supported by Matt Lucas from Lucas architects who has helped with the design and offered his services to project manage. Mott Macdonald has helped with the M&E design and we have now received an offer of support from Dali Pnaiser at Cambabest to be the principle contractor and help with building control. With all this support we should be in position to commence works in mid to late January on a four to six week programme.
