Visit from Fatman Scoop

by Anthony Taylor on 10 October 2016

On Friday 23rd of September we were really excited to welcome hip-hop star, Fatman Scoop.

Fatman Scoop took time out of his busy schedule, joining us at our Drop In centre for our Friday Evening service, where we open to provide food and drinks for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed, immediately before going on to a host Friday night at Birmingham’s biggest nightclub, Pryzm with a fantastic live performance.

img_7640He spent the time meeting our clients, volunteers and staff members, learning more about our services and speaking directly to our clients, hearing some of their stories.

It’s not the first time Fatman Scoop has got involved with homeless services here in the UK, having previously visiting other homeless centres around the country during his tour and, memorably, hyping up a London busker’s version of ‘Valerie’ on the London Underground.

We want to extend our thanks to Fatman Scoop and his team for coming along and helping to highlight the issue of homelessness in Birmingham.

Check out his profile on  MN2S.
