Tesco gives a helping hand

by admin on 29 January 2016

TescoWe are really excited that Trish Edwards, the Community Champion for Tesco Convenience stores based in Birmingham City Centre has contacted us about Tesco’s community schemes.  As well as having their national Tesco charity of the year Diabetes UK and British Heart Foundation, Tesco teams are encouraged and supported to make links with local charities to see how they can make a difference.

“I am proud that we as a group of Tesco stores in the Midlands can support SIFA Fireside.  It is a fantastic charity helping a lot of people in Birmingham who would otherwise have nowhere else to turn.  We look forward to working with them, adding value to the great work SIFA Fireside already does.”  Trish Edwards, Tesco Community Champion

Trish and the Birmingham City Centre teams will be working with us throughout the coming year to help support our drop-in service and clients through fundraising, donations of food and goods, volunteering and giving customers the opportunity to get involved in campaigns.

Support from business helps us to continue to fund and deliver our much needed drop-in centre and services based at Allcock Street, Digbeth, where we work with some of Birmingham’s most vulnerable adults; people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.  Thanks to Tesco, we also hope to raise our profile and make more people in Birmingham City Centre aware of SIFA Fireside and the work we do.
