Legal Highs Awareness

by admin on 13 April 2015

Our nationally delivered Legal Highs Awareness training is back in Birmingham on 8th May 2015!  So far the training has been successfully delivered in 8 major cities and towns to help raise awareness of Legal Highs (also known as Novel Psychoactive Substances) and empower staff to deal with the growing problem.  Here’s what some of the delegates have said about the training so far:

“Informative and very good knowledge!” – Salvation Army delegate, Merseyside

“Excellent course, well delivered, thanks!” – Delegate in Manchester

“Explained everything fully & clearly, brilliant” – Changing Lives delegate, Newcastle on Tyne

“Excellent timing, informative, well presented.  Brilliant; thank you!” – YMCA Derbyshire delegate, Derby

“Very good trainer & training session” – St Martin’s Housing Delegate, Norwich

On completing this course you will:

  • Be able to define what legal highs are
  • Understand their availability, marketing and prevalence
  • Have a greater understanding of current research about legal highs
  • Understand the motivation for taking legal highs
  • Know what some of the most prominent legal (and recently illegal) highs are
  • Understand the basics of harm reduction using process and prevention models

If you are interested in attending please book your place electronically here

If you would like to arrange an in-house course for your organisation for a team of up to 18 people, please contact our training manager on 0121 766 1700.

I am the Chair of Community Leadership Peer group for the Charity Emmaus. Part of my role as chair is to find training that could be useful to those who attend the peer groups to take back to their Communities. One area they fee that they need more knowledge in is Legal highs (Novel Psychoactive substances). I was wondering if you have a trainer that would be willing to come to Birmingham where we meet on Feb 23rd and do a days training for our Charity? or if you can offer any advice.

Many thanks
