After a difficult week we celebrated Christmas in style with decorations and a big Christmas lunch by DHL ended which ended with donations from the ‘socs and chocs’ campaign being giving out as a parting gift.
For the second year DHL have provided our drop in with Christmas trees and decorations as well as sending a huge team to us to cook Christmas lunch.
This year 25 volunteers cooked and served dinner whilst the Clients were entertained by the Client band, — and our singing Fundraising Manager.
It was the busiest day in December with 167 Clients attending (that’s 38 Clients more than our monthly average of 129 the rest of the days in December.)
Mark Johnson, Director, 7 Day Catering comments: “We are thrilled to have returned to SIFA Fireside with our client, DHL, to offer some festive cheer for service users by cooking up a hearty breakfast and Christmas feast. SIFA Fireside does an unbelievable job and it’s an absolute honour to continue to support a local charity and such a worthy cause.”
Carole Fox, Operations Manager, SIFA Fireside Drop in Centre, comments: “It was great to welcome back DHL and the team at 7 Day Catering to SIFA Fireside. The service users really appreciate the team giving up their time for them, in fact, one of them commented that ‘everyone should be able to enjoy Christmas, irrespective of their situation’, which is a sentiment felt by everyone present. 7 Day Catering provided service users with great food in an environment alive with festive cheer and goodwill which made a life-changing difference to everyone who attended. Huge thanks again to all involved.”
