We recently had RBS come into our drop-in and decorate our five key-working rooms which had been left white since we moved into our new building. They are now much better and have been painted neutral creams and browns! Below is a quote from the team that helped out:
‘The whole team from RBS had a fantastic time at SIFA Fireside, it was a pleasure to be able to support such a worthy charity that is doing some fantastic work for the community, we pitched up with paint and enthusiasm and got to work with some kind of plan, and within 10 minutes there were a number of service users who thought it best to provide us with some direction when they saw our decorating skills were not that of professionals.
30 Litres of paint, about a mile of masking tape and some progress meetings later we had managed to finish 4 of the 5 key worker rooms. These types of days are the reason as an employee I’m happy RBS support CSR activities, it was hard work but seeing the rooms after we had finished and the service users thanking us for the work made the pain I felt Saturday morning and the paint soaked clothes (I don’t think I was painting properly) well worth it, and the key workers and service users can enjoy the rooms and we look forward to coming back
and helping with some further projects in the future.
We were given a tour of the facilities at the end of the day and the team at SIFA have done a fantastic job with the areas and opened my eyes to the hard work that the staff and volunteers do on a daily basis.’
