We operate a fortnightly Service User Forum on a Monday from 11.00 onwards in the ‘drop in’, giving service users an opportunity to raise concerns, give feedback and make suggestions on the service that we provide. As well as offering refreshments we regularly have guests such as trustees, researchers, specialist advisor’s and other representatives from outside bodies. West Midlands Police, SIFA Fireside’s Counsellor and Substance Misuse Project Worker and Drug Line attended the Service User Forum during October.
Service users also have a Service User Committee with three members which meets regularly with SIFA Fireside’s Chief Executive and Operations Manager, SIFA Fireside’s Board of Trustees and attends staff meetings. It also provides a voice for service users’ concerns when meeting outside agencies and reports back to the Service User Forum. Recent suggestions have included holding a Service User Conference. We would welcome other organisations thoughts on a joint service user conference. Please contact our Development Manager, Simon Hackett.
